Sisal is a fibre that is native to Mexico and derived from the Agave plant, that is a hardy plant that grows in hot climates.
Sisal fibres are used to make ropes and yarn that is popularly used to make rugs, bags, bath sponges, and even wall coverings. It is not used to make textiles.
